Program Overview
Our school’s children medical science program covers the six learning areas in early children education. Through various hands-on experience, children will learn some basic medical concepts and principles. Children will learn about themselves since birth through growing up, in which to develop their gratitude for their parents’ love and care and understand the meaning of life. This leads to a development in medical ethics and moral character. The program focuses on children’s life safety. They will learn basic first-aid methods, aiming for self-helping, helping others, and emergency rescue. Children will also understand the structure and purposes of body organs through studying human body autonomy model. Medical Science is a transdisciplinary program in the technology humanity field, setting a solid foundation for higher-order thinking.
S for Surgery
- Experiential learning: cotton ball picking, bandage application and wound caring
- Introduction of regular human symptoms
- Parent-child symptoms checking
T for Terminologies
- Learn about basic terms like human organs, combining face-to-face model learning
E for Ethics
- Importance of medical ethics and benevolence and development of good virtues, nurturing children to become future talents in the medical field
M for Medicine
- Experiential learning: usage of blood pressure monitor, thermometer, and stethoscope
Introducing purposes of medicine and basic concepts of treatment
Germs and disease, and proper ways of hand-washing to prevent disease
Enhance children’s awareness in public health
